The following remarks were given by Mike Sutherland from Peguis First Nation at the Bipole III Public Hearing.
“Much of our land is — and personal property have been damaged. People live in impoverished conditions. Many of our people live under the poverty line. Because of the loss of homes and habitat in our communities, there are many families living with multiple families in homes. Many of our people are sick with mold and other respiratory illnesses, especially elders and infants.” – Mike Sutherland, Peguis First Nation
